he WNBA has renewed its partnership with Twitter, allowing the social media platform to live stream ten 2020 WNBA regular season games on the league’s official Twitter channel.

The renewed deal marks the fourth consecutive season with matches broadcast on Twitter, with the WNBA 2020 season set to begin at the Feld Entertainment Center in Florida on August 12.

The ten broadcasts Twitter now has the rights to, will include commentary from LaChina Robinson and Ros Gold-Onwude, with Twitter to also run WNBA highlights features over the course of the season, which is scheduled to end on September 12.

WNBA commissioner, Cathy Engelbert, said the partnership with Twitter helps the WNBA reach and engage with new fans like never before.

“Twitter continues to be an integral part of the WNBA’s media landscape and providing innovation on their platform during this unique season will elevate fan engagement to a whole new level,” Engelbert said.

“This continued partnership enables our passionate supporters and fans to connect directly to our game and to experience WNBA basketball from wherever they are,” she said.

Twitter head of U.S. sports partnerships, TJ Adeshola, said Twitter is excited to show WNBA games to fans around the world.

“The W [WNBA] has been a top sports partner of ours for many years and we’re pumped to offer live WNBA games, with a Twitter twist, to basketball fans across the globe,” he said.
