Organisers of Wimbledon, the All-England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, have announced a renewed broadcast partnership with IMG-owned Sport 24.
The deal will see Wimbledon broadcast live across the airline and cruise line industries for a further three years until 2024, with more than 165 hours of live content to be broadcast across Sport 24 and Sport 24 Extra throughout the ongoing tournament.
The competition is added alongside Sport 24’s other live sport broadcast offerings, including the Premier League, UEFA Champions League, NBA, NFL, MotoGP, and The Open, among others.
IMG senior vice president for content and channels, Richard Wise, said the coverage of the 2022 edition marks the 10th anniversary of the channel.
“We very much value our long-standing partnership with the All-England Club and we are thrilled to be extending our relationship for a further three years,” Wise said.
“Wimbledon is always a very special event on the sports calendar, and we’re delighted to be able to continue offering passengers around the world live action on both channels in what will be yet another competitive, eagerly-anticipated affair,” he said.
All-England Club commercial director, Gus Henderson, said: “On the occasion of Sport 24’s 10th anniversary, we are delighted to be renewing our partnership for a further three years to 2024.”
“Being able to bring Wimbledon to more people around the world more of the time is a core pillar of our commercial and marketing strategy, and, alongside our broadcast partners, the Sport 24 output plays an important role in delivering on that ambition,” Henderson said.
The announcement is the latest surrounding Wimbledon, who recently decided to end an 86-year long partnership with Robinsons.
