Topgolf International, LLC, the global leader in modern golf entertainment, has announced the appointment of David McKillips as its new CEO, effective today, 23 February 2026.
McKillips joins the organisation at a critical moment, tasked with overseeing the vision and expansion of a portfolio that now includes more than 100 entertainment venues and the industry-defining Toptracer ball-tracking technology.
McKillips brings nearly three decades of experience in high-volume family entertainment and theme parks to the role. Most recently, he served as president and CEO of CEC Entertainment (the parent company of Chuck E. Cheese), where he was credited with navigating a complex financial restructuring and launching the brand’s first successful membership program.
Commenting on his new position, former CEO of CEC Entertainment, McKillips, said: “Topgolf is a brand I’ve long admired; one that brings people together through unforgettable shared experiences no matter their level of interest in the game of golf.”
“I’m honoured to lead such a talented team that has and continues to expand the Player experience through unrivalled hospitality and innovative sports technology,” McKillips said.
The appointment signals Topgolf’s intent to further lean into its “eatertainment” and technology-first business model. Prior to his tenure at CEC, McKillips held senior executive roles at Six Flags Entertainment, where he managed international operations across Canada and Mexico and founded the company’s sponsorship sales and activation division.
His expertise in scaling global footprints and diversifying revenue streams, specifically through food and beverage, retail, and digital media networks, is expected to be a primary driver for Topgolf’s next phase of growth. The commercial potential of Toptracer, which is already the gold standard for broadcast shot-tracking and driving range technology globally, remains a core focus of the CEO’s mandate.
McKillips’ transition to the helm of Topgolf comes as the brand continues to bridge the gap between traditional sport and social entertainment. Under his leadership, the organisation is expected to accelerate its venue rollout in untapped international markets while deepening its integration with its parent company, Callaway Golf (Topgolf Callaway Brands).
Beyond his professional recongnitions, McKillips is an active contributor to the Jack & Jill Late-Stage Cancer Foundation and Kids Matter International. A University of Georgia alumnus, he relocates to the role with a deep understanding of the North American entertainment landscape, which remains Topgolf’s largest revenue engine.
