Toledo athletics brings together key sports execs for new event

The Toledo athletic department marked a milestone by organising the inaugural Team Toledo Partner Summit on Tuesday at the esteemed Savage Arena.

This event served as a convergence point for executives spanning various sectors, including sports, business, and community engagement.

Key topics of discussion at the summit included critical areas such as private equity and capital investment, real estate partnerships, youth sports development, and strategies for revenue generation.

Notably, the keynote address was delivered by CEO of Rock Entertainment, Nic Barlage. Barlage articulated the important role of sports as a vehicle for growth and fostering community involvement.

In addition, the summit featured a panel discussion titled “Manufactured in the Glass City,” which brought together esteemed participants Andrew Hawkins, co-founder and president of StatusPRO, and Ryan Huzjak, vice president of Sales and Marketing for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Both Hawkins and Huzjak are distinguished alumni of Toledo’s football program and expressed their insights on the future of Toledo Athletics.

Hawkins emphasised the potential of Toledo Athletics to leverage its position and drive significant engagement within the community.

Meanwhile, Huzjak highlighted the importance of forging robust connections with local youth sports programs as a promising avenue for growth.
