Starbucks has been confirmed as a Founding Partner of the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games, becoming the Official Coffee Partner of LA28 and Team USA in a multi-year deal that also extends to NBCUniversal’s Olympic and Paralympic coverage.
The agreement gives Starbucks a high-profile role in both athlete and fan-facing activations during LA28, including operating a dedicated coffeehouse in the Olympic and Paralympic Village and extending its café experience across competition venues and volunteer hubs.
As part of the deal, Starbucks will also partner with NBCUniversal to integrate across its multi-platform coverage of the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Games and LA28.
This includes category exclusivity in coffee and access to branded storytelling opportunities across NBCU’s national broadcast and digital channels.
Sharing how the partnership reflects the alignment of two globally recognised platforms, LA28 Chairperson and President, Casey Wasserman, commented: “This partnership will unite Starbucks’ deep connection with communities across the country with what will be one of the most iconic and powerful platforms in all of sports: the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games.”
For Starbucks, the agreement is both a brand and community play. Beyond visibility in Los Angeles ,where the company has operated for nearly 35 years and runs more than 1,000 stores.
Starbucks joins an expanding roster of LA28 commercial partners in deals that support the privately funded organising committee.
With no new permanent infrastructure planned for LA28, the financial contribution of partners is viewed as central to Games delivery.
The deal also underscores the growing integration between official Games sponsorship and media rights partnerships, with NBCUniversal now offering brands such as Starbucks both event activation and broadcast integration in a single package.
