The Brisbane Lions, Australian Football League (AFL), has announced the appointment of Sam Graham as its new Chief Executive Officer last 2 June 2025.
This leadership transition follows the departure of long-term CEO Greg Swann, who has moved to the AFL as Executive General Manager, Football Performance.
Graham, who has served as the Lions’ Chief Operating Officer since November 2023, assumes the top executive role, a move that the club’s Chairman, Andrew Wellington, described as a “seamless transition.”
Expressing his commitment to the club’s trajectory, freshly appointed CEO, Sam Graham, said : “On a personal note, I’m very humbled to take on this role and am excited to lead the Club through its next phase of growth.”
“From my point of view, we have a great team in place both on and off the field so it will very much be business as usual moving forward,” indicating a focus on maintaining operational stability and building upon the foundations laid by Graham’s predecessor.
His immediate priorities include supporting both the men’s (AFL) and women’s (AFLW) programs, maximising attendance at home matches at the Gabba and Brighton Homes Arena, and servicing the club’s expanding membership base.
