Rising Roos Australia and MAHE Formalise Global Sports Education Alliance

Rising Roos Australia Pty Ltd has announced a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), a commercial expansion into the Indian sports education market.

The agreement, officially handed over by Rising Roos CEO, Sudhir Nayak Karopady, at the MAHE campus, establishes a long-term framework for enhancing global standards in sports coaching, high-performance training, and sports management.

By leveraging Australian high-performance methodology, Rising Roos aims to provide MAHE’s growing student body with direct access to world-class systems that have defined Australia’s sporting success.

For MAHE, a top-ranked private university in India, the collaboration strengthens its Masters of Sports Management and Exercise Sciences programs by offering students industry-validated curriculum support and international exposure.

Commenting on the MOU, CEO of Rising Roos Australia, Sudhir Nayak Karopady, said: “This partnership is a significant milestone in enhancing global collaboration in sports education.”

“These initiatives are designed to offer MAHE students valuable insights into global best practices in sports training, high-performance systems, and sports management,” Karopady said.

Pillars of the Partnership

The MoU outlines three primary delivery areas designed to integrate Australian expertise into the Indian academic ecosystem:

Rising Roos will provide structured academic support and professional mentoring for students enrolled in MAHE’s sports-related degree programs.

In-person sessions led by expert Australian coaches will be conducted on-campus, focusing on technical development and physical conditioning.

Structured tours to Australia will allow MAHE students and athletes to train at state-of-the-art facilities and experience elite sporting environments firsthand.

Commercial and Regional Implications of the MOU

The collaboration was facilitated by key industry figures including Harish Kumar and Ren Trevor Dias, highlighting a concentrated effort to professionalise the Indian sports sector ahead of the 2032 Brisbane Olympics and India’s own future hosting aspirations.

For Rising Roos, this follows a broader strategy of exporting “The Australian Way” of coaching to developing sporting nations, particularly in cricket and high-performance athletics.

As India’s sports sector continues its rapid professionalisation, partnerships like the one between Rising Roos and MAHE are becoming essential for developing the next generation of sports administrators and high-performance coaches.
