NWSL reveals major partnership with Google Pixel for enhanced playoff experience

The National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) – the United States’ elite professional women’s competition – has announced a partnership with tech giant Google, marking a multi-year agreement that sees Google Pixel as the presenting sponsor of the league’s playoffs and championship game.

Google Pixel also becomes the official mobile phone partner of the NWSL.

The partnership introduces the innovative ‘Pitchside with Pixel’ program, leveraging Google’s cutting-edge AI-powered camera technology. This program aims to capture exclusive behind-the-scenes footage for both the league and Google’s various media channels.

With a focus on enhancing fan engagement, Google will also sponsor contests for US-based fans, offering them the opportunity to join the ‘Pitchside with Pixel’ program during regular season games.

This partnership underscores Google Pixel’s growing presence in women’s soccer, following similar ventures with the German and English women’s national teams, as well as a naming rights sponsorship for Germany’s Frauen Bundesliga. Google continues to demonstrate its commitment to supporting women’s sports and elevating the visibility of female athletes.

“We are thrilled to welcome Google, a global leader in groundbreaking innovation and connectivity, to the NWSL family as our postseason and LCC content sponsor,” said Julie Haddon, the Chief Marketing and Commercial Officer of the NWSL.

“As we continue to push the boundaries of what is possible in sports, we are constantly exploring new and dynamic ways to connect fans with the NWSL and our remarkable athletes, especially around the league’s most iconic moments that may not be captured on broadcast or streaming platforms.

“With the support of Google and its cutting-edge technologies, we will continue to capture and share the most exciting and compelling moments of our sport, from kickoff to the NWSL Championship, with fans around the world.”

As the league gears up for its season opener on March, fans can expect to be immersed in a new era of women’s soccer that embraces technology and celebrates the unparalleled talent within the NWSL.
