The National Rugby League (NRL) has entered a strategic two-year partnership with JD Sports ANZ, a leading global sports fashion retailer, aiming to broaden its international footprint.
This collaboration designates JD Sports as the Official Presenting Partner of Rugby League Las Vegas for the 2025 and 2026 seasons and as the Official Sports Retail Partner of the NRL Premiership.
NRL CEO Andrew Abdo highlighted the synergy between the two organisations, stating, “It is great to welcome JD Sports to the Rugby League community as a partner and as a brand that has a passion for innovation. We look forward to working with JD Sports to take the Rugby League Las Vegas festival to even greater heights for fans over the next two years.”
With a presence in over 4,500 stores across 38 territories, including North America, the UK, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and Southeast Asia, JD Sports is well-positioned to support the NRL’s expansion efforts.
JD Sports ANZ CEO Aaron Faraguna expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “JD is extremely proud to partner with the NRL on such a significant international event. We pride ourselves on bringing energy to the marketplace through unique partnerships and engaging our audience through the culture of sport.”
This alliance was prominently featured during the 2024 Grand Final week, with JD Sports showcasing exclusive footwear at events such as the Dally M Awards and Fan Fest. The partnership aims to strengthen the NRL’s connection with youth culture and leverage JD Sports’ influence in the US market.
By aligning with JD Sports, the NRL seeks to enhance its global presence and engage a broader audience, particularly in the United States, through innovative collaborations and strategic marketing initiatives.
