NPL Australia Selects Playbypoint as Exclusive Club Management Partner

The National Pickleball League (NPL) Australia has announced a partnership with Playbypoint, naming the global firm as its Exclusive Club Management Platform.

The partnership establishes Playbypoint as the technological backbone for NPL’s expanding network of owned, equity-partnered, and licensed venues across Australia and New Zealand.

As NPL scales its footprint, which includes flagship locations in Melbourne and a growing presence in Queensland and New South Wales, the move aims to provide a seamless, “white-label” experience for players while streamlining complex backend operations for venue owners.

Commenting on the announcement, CEO of Playbypoint, Andres Robelo, said: “Australia represents one of the most exciting growth markets for racquet sports globally.”

“By providing technology that removes barriers for both club operators and players, we’re helping grow participation and strengthen racquet sports communities across Oceania,” Robelo said.

Scaling the “Total Pie” of Racquet Sports

While pickleball is the core focus, the partnership is part of a broader “multi-sport” strategy.

NPL co-founder, Ron Shell, indicated that the organisation is committed to growing the “total pie” of racquet sports, which includes upcoming initiatives and venue integrations with padel and tennis.

“As we scale our venue network, we need a technology partner that can support our vision and experience on a single modern platform.”

“Playbypoint’s white label offering means our venues maintain their unique brands while delivering the seamless booking and payment experience players expect,” Shell said.

The Playbypoint platform, which currently serves over 1,000 facilities in 35+ countries, will allow NPL to manage court bookings, integrated payments, and player engagement tools on a single unified system.

Professionalisation of the Pickleball Pathway

The digital overhaul comes as the NPL 2026 Season kicks off in April, featuring 12 teams across three states and a $150,000 prize pool.

With over 2.5 million players globally already connected to the Playbypoint ecosystem, the partnership is expected to significantly lower the entry barrier for new Australian participants, allowing them to find and book courts through a familiar, high-performance interface.
