Netball Australia and ANPA Announcec Revenue-Share Deal With Diamonds

Netball Australia (NA) and the Australian Netball Players’ Association (ANPA) have reached a landmark agreement on a new three-year Collective Player Agreement (CPA), introducing a first-of-its-kind revenue-share model for the sport.

Under the deal, Origin Australian Diamonds players will receive a share of sponsorship, broadcast, and event revenue generated by Netball Australia, alongside a pay increase of around 40% over the term.

The CPA also includes significant investment in wellbeing, transition, and alumni programs, with both parties agreeing to collaborate on new commercial opportunities through a Player Ambassador Pool designed to enhance the marketability of players and the sport.

Sharing how the agreement recognised the Diamonds’ global status and commercial appeal, Netball Australia CEO, Stacey West, said: “The Diamonds players are the best in the world and they should be recognised and rewarded for their marketability, skills and commitment.”

“When the game grows, everyone in the system benefits. This model allows players to directly share in the commercial success of our sport,” West said.

Netball Australia, Chair Liz Ellis AO, added that the deal set “a new benchmark for women’s team sports in Australia” and would support the sport’s ambitions leading into the 2026 Commonwealth Games, the 2027 Netball World Cup in Sydney, and a potential bid for Olympic inclusion at Brisbane 2032.

ANPA CEO, Kathryn Harby-Williams AM, welcomed the agreement, highlighting the shift towards recognising players as the sport’s most valuable asset.

“This partnership aligns netball with other major sports globally. The Diamonds are more than just employees – they are the product.”

“Revenue sharing ensures players are rewarded in a way that reflects their value and contribution,” Harby-Williams said.

The agreement follows on from last year’s sponsorship outperformance deal for Suncorp Super Netball players, which delivered an 11% minimum pay rise across three years.

ANPA President, Jo Weston, said the deal also strengthened the focus on athlete wellbeing and the long-term sustainability of the game.

“Wellbeing is always a priority for players.”

“This agreement supports athletes both on and off the court and strengthens our connection with past players,” Weston said.
