NBL Expands North American Reach with NBA App and NBA TV Broadcast Deal

The National Basketball League (NBL) has announced a major broadcast expansion, with live games and content to be featured on the NBA App and NBA TV starting October 17.

The agreement will make NBL fixtures available to fans in the U.S. and Canada, while audiences worldwide will gain access to highlights and digital content.

This development builds on the success of the recent NBAxNBL Melbourne Series, which drew more than 60,000 fans to Melbourne Park for exhibition games featuring the New Orleans Pelicans, Melbourne United, and South East Melbourne Phoenix.

Commenting on the announcement, NBL group chief media & content officer, Heath O’Loughlin, said: “This is yet another exciting milestone in our ambition to continue to show the NBL to the rest of world and make it more accessible than ever before.”

“Through our partnership with the NBA, and off the back of the recent momentum and success of the NBAxNBL Melbourne Series, we’re thrilled to see NBL games available live across North America,” OLoughin said.

The partnership highlights the NBL’s growing global footprint and the league’s strategy to position itself as one of the most competitive basketball leagues outside the NBA.

By integrating NBL games into the NBA’s global digital platforms, the league enhances exposure for its clubs, players, and commercial partners while giving North American audiences direct access to the NBL’s style of play and talent pipeline, including the Next Stars program.
