Melbourne Storm has announced DebtManagers as its new Community Partner, an initiative empowering young people through leadership, culture, and sport.

The one-year partnership will see DebtManagers’ branding featured on the shirts and jumpers worn by Storm Waka participants during the school holiday sessions.

The company, known for its ethical and compassionate approach to debt management, is committed to helping Australians achieve financial independence and supporting programs that promote fairness, belonging, and opportunity.

Shared Commitment to Opportunity and Wellbeing

Expressing his enthusiasm for the new partnership, Melbourne Storm CEO, Justin Rodski, said: “We’re excited to have DebtManagers on board as our Community Partner.”

“Their commitment to fairness, community empowerment, and opportunity aligns strongly with the goals of the program.

“Together, we’re helping shape the next generation of leaders, both on and off the field,” Rodski said.

Echoing his sentiments, executive general manager at DebtManagers, Mark Francis, added: “Storm Waka reflects our belief in creating a fairer world where everyone can thrive.”

“Through culture-led workshops and sport, the program helps turn potential into purpose. We’re proud to work alongside Melbourne Storm to help it grow and make a lasting impact,” Francis added.

The partnership reinforces Melbourne Storm’s dedication to community engagement and youth development, showcasing how sport and culture can unite to foster resilience, leadership, and positive transformation among the next generation.

Empowering Pasifika Youth Through Culture and Sport

The Storm Waka Program, supported by the Victorian Government Department of Education, engages young people aged 10 to 18, predominantly from Pasifika backgrounds, in a series of workshops focused on leadership, resilience, empathy, and values.

Delivered in collaboration with local Pasifika community organisations, the program combines cultural connection and celebration with rugby league activities, offering a safe and inclusive environment for participants to explore identity, community, and personal growth.

Since its launch in January, the program has seen six successful editions, including recent workshops at Casey Warriors Rugby League Club and Hallam Recreation Reserve, engaging more than 50 young people in each session.
