Liverpool FC has entered into a global, multi-year agreement with PayPal, naming the digital commerce leader as the club’s official digital payments partner.
This landmark deal marks PayPal’s first-ever collaboration with a Premier League football club and is designed to enhance the fan experience across all digital and physical club touchpoints.
The partnership increases PayPal’s global footprint, which includes over 400 million active accounts, to offer supporters secure, fast, and flexible payment solutions. A central feature of the collaboration is the launch of PayPal+, the company’s first-ever free loyalty programme tailored for the club’s fanbase.
Through PayPal+, supporters will earn reward points when using PayPal to pay for matchday purchases, merchandise, and services. The programme operates across three tiers: Blue, Gold, and Black; with higher tiers recognising fan loyalty by offering rewards points worth up to 50 per cent more at checkout, alongside access to exclusive club perks.
Underlining the strategic importance of the collaboration, LFC’s chief commercial officer, Ben Latty, said: “PayPal is the original brand known for trust in digital payments, and we’re delighted to welcome them to the LFC family.”
“This partnership is an exciting step forward in our commitment to innovation, ensuring fans can engage with the club in a seamless and secure way,” Latty said.
As part of the enhanced integration, PayPal will become the preferred digital payment method for the club, featuring prominently across LFC’s e-commerce and “All Red” platforms to streamline transactions. PayPal branding will also be visible at both Anfield and St Helens during matches.
A Partnership Focused on Shared Values
LFC and PayPal are committed to initiatives that elevate the profile of LFC Women and expand grassroots football programmes through the LFC Foundation.
Speaking on the direct benefits for the supporters, chief marketing officer at PayPal, Geoff Seeley, concluded: “We’re offering customers a seamless and flexible experience that rewards them for doing something they love, whether buying the new kit or grabbing a pint at the match… PayPal is the smarter way to pay for LFC and sports fans globally,” Seeley commented.
