JackJumpers Unveil Designs for $15M High-Performance Centre in Kingston

The Tasmania JackJumpers have officially unveiled their $15 million high-performance centre, a state-of-the-art facility spanning approximately 5,500 square metres. Designed to consolidate the club’s training, administration, and community programs, this development marks a significant milestone in the JackJumpers’ evolution as a professional sports organisation.

The high-performance centre will be constructed within the Kingborough Sports Precinct, a location confirmed in May after plans to build at Wilkinsons Point in Glenorchy were revised. The project, which has advanced to the Development Application stage through the Kingborough Council, will include the demolition of the existing car club track and sheds to make way for modern training courts, health facilities, and administrative areas.

This facility is expected to serve as the heart of the JackJumpers’ operations, supporting the club’s strategic goals and reinforcing its commitment to both elite performance and community engagement.

Minister for Sports and Events, Nick Duigan, highlighted the broader vision for the precinct, stating that it is poised to transform into a “central recreational hub” for Tasmania. This development coincides with the recent announcement that the Tasmania Football Club will establish its $70 million AFL high-performance centre adjacent to the JackJumpers’ facility, fostering a concentrated sports infrastructure in the area.
