Inter Miami has revealed the expansion of its partnership with Royal Caribbean, a south Florida-based cruise line.
This development marks Royal Caribbean’s transition from being the club’s vacation partner to now proudly adorning the coveted position of the official jersey sponsor for the high-profile Major League Soccer club.
The cruise line’s distinctive logo will take centre stage on both Inter Miami’s home and away jerseys throughout the 2024 season. This comes from the conclusion of Inter Miami’s previous jersey partnership with XBTO, a cryptocurrency finance company that held the distinction of being the club’s inaugural shirt sponsor when it was established ahead of the 2022 MLS season.
While the specifics of the conclusion of the XBTO partnership remain undisclosed, the addition of Argentine soccer icon Lionel Messi to the Inter Miami roster during the 2023 campaign is seen as a pivotal factor. This move has prompted the club to reassess its value to sponsors, leading to a shift in its commercial approach.
Inter Miami and Royal Caribbean initiated their partnership in August 2023, with the cruise line serving as the club’s primary partner and official vacation partner. The ongoing multi-year collaboration has already featured prominent Royal Caribbean branding on LED pitch-side hoardings at Inter Miami’s stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
In addition to the jersey sponsorship, the two entities collaborate on various activations within the club’s fan zone on matchdays. Royal Caribbean will maintain a visible presence across Inter Miami’s social media channels.
“Both Royal Caribbean Group and Inter Miami share the values of dreaming and determination – and the highs of the unbelievable moments when those dreams come true,” said Jason Liberty, President and Chief Executive of the Royal Caribbean Group.
“It’s exciting to now combine forces, and I can’t wait for the future that our two organisations will forge for our industries, for our fans around the world, and of course, for our local communities here in south Florida.”
Inter Miami becomes the final club to secure a shirt sponsor for the 2024 season, following Chicago Fire’s earlier announcement of Carvana as their sponsor in December. Carvana succeeded the telecommunications giant Motorola, which had sponsored Chicago Fire jerseys since 2019.
