HCF Extends Netball Australia Partnership Through 2027

Australia’s largest not-for-profit health fund, HCF, has announced a two-year extension as a Major Partner of Netball Australia and the Suncorp Super Netball (SSN) league.

The agreement, which runs through the end of 2027, marks a significant decade-long milestone for one of the most enduring commercial partnerships in Australian women’s sport.

The extension arrives at a pivotal moment for the league, which officially launched its landmark 10th season last week.

Following a record-breaking 2025 campaign that saw over 386,000 fans attend matches, the 2026 season has already delivered immediate drama, including the Melbourne Mavericks’ historic 61–52 victory over the GIANTS in the season opener on 13 March.

Commenting on the partnership, Netball Australia’s executive general manager Super League and Commercial, Christine Finnegan, said: “HCF continues to back Australia’s leading team sport for women and girls and the world’s best netball league.”

The 2026 season is scheduled to conclude with the Grand Final in Melbourne on Saturday 4 July, ahead of the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

Expanded Club Footprint and Milestone Anniversaries

Echoing his sentiments, on the partnership, HCF CEO, Lorraine Thomas, said: “Investing in women’s sport is one of the most direct and meaningful ways we can improve the health and wellbeing of all Australians.”

“This partnership is about more than financial backing; it’s about meaningful collaboration to raise awareness of the health issues that matter most to young women,” Thomas said.st

HCF’s commitment for the 2026/27 cycle includes an expanded presence across several key SSN franchises:

  • GIANTS Netball: HCF will celebrate ten years as Principal Partner of the GIANTS in 2026, a relationship that predates the formation of the current Super Netball league.
  • Melbourne Mavericks: The health fund officially welcomes the league’s newest team into its partner portfolio for 2026, joining its existing role as Premier Partner of the Melbourne Vixens.
  • National Reach: HCF continues as the official health insurance partner for the Adelaide Thunderbirds, NSW Swifts, Queensland Firebirds, Sunshine Coast Lightning, and West Coast Fever.

Data-Driven Fan Engagement

The 2026 season sees the return of the HCF Team Health Score™, a real-time broadcast metric developed in partnership with Champion Data. The score provides fans with a dynamic view of team performance across three pillars:

  • Physical: Measured through deflections, blocks, and rebounds.
  • Mental: Focused on individual resilience, goals, and gains.
  • Support: Tracking how players elevate teammates through assists and pickups.

The partnership extension also includes the “Game Day Ready” content series, where elite athletes share preparation routines covering nutrition, digital wellness, and the balance of professional sport with external responsibilities.
