The Gold Coast Titans have announced the launch of Try Time Tales, a new community initiative focused on early childhood education and fundamental skill development across the extensive Gold Coast and Northern Rivers region.
The innovative programme targets students in Prep to Year 2 and utilises a story-based learning methodology alongside physical activity sessions. The structured approach is designed to assist young students in grasping the basic skills and concepts of rugby league while building fundamental movement skills through active play in a safe environment.
The initiative has a geographic focus, aiming to further strengthen the club’s community connection across the entire territory, spanning from Logan in the north to Lismore in the south. The programme is being offered free of charge to primary schools, with eight institutions already booked for late 2025 and the rollout scheduled to continue throughout 2026.
Highlighting the strategic intent behind leveraging player profile for educational outcomes, Titans CEO, Steve Mitchell, said: “The genuine excitement young students get when they meet their NRL heroes is priceless and we’re proud we can harness this to foster positive learning habits and core skills at such a fundamental age.”
Mitchell reinforced the commitment to long-term regional presence as a core driver for the initiative.
“Community is core to our purpose and it’s hugely important we continue our presence across our region,” Mitchell added.
The programme directly addresses the club’s stated goal of supporting the next generation both on and off the field through impactful and free community engagement.
A key component of the programme’s delivery is the active engagement of Titans NRL and NRLW players, who will be present in schools to lead sessions.
The initial rollout commenced with four players visiting Coomera State School and Coomera Springs State School, validating the club’s strategy of utilising player time to build strong, positive relationships within its grassroots communities.
