The Fremantle Dockers and RAC have announced the renewal and elevation of their long-standing partnership, reaffirming a shared mission to make Western Australian roads safer and to strengthen community connection through the power of sport.
The new three-year agreement sees RAC become a platinum partner of the Fremantle Dockers, marking a decade of collaboration grounded in trust, shared values, and a commitment to positive social impact. Together, the two organisations aim to drive lasting behavioural change and save lives across the state.
A Partnership in Critical Times
Western Australia recorded its worst level of road deaths in a decade in 2024, with 188 fatalities a tragic trend that has continued into 2025. This ongoing challenge underscores the importance of coordinated community efforts like those driven by RAC and Fremantle.
Fremantle Dockers CEO, Simon Garlick, said the renewed partnership extends beyond traditional sponsorship, embedding road safety and community engagement into the heart of the club’s identity.
“This partnership reflects the deep alignment between Fremantle and RAC when it comes to community impact and shared values.”
“By working together, we can make a tangible difference — from game days to grassroots initiatives — and help create safer roads for all Western Australians,” Garlick said
RAC Group CEO, Rob Slocombe, said the collaboration demonstrates the strength of using sport as a platform for awareness and action.
“We’re thrilled to continue and expand our partnership with the Fremantle Dockers, which helps us connect with passionate WA footy fans about road safety.”
“Through this elevated partnership, we’ll continue sharing a vital message — that every one of us plays a role in keeping people safe on our roads,” Slocombe said.
From the 2026 AFL and AFLW seasons, the partnership will include enhanced RAC branding across coaching apparel, increased visibility through club media and matchday activations, and expanded youth education and community programs.
Initiatives will include dedicated support for Kimberley Connected in partnership with the Purple Hands Foundation, along with community footy clinics and a new Official Road Safety Partner content series.
RAC members will also benefit from exclusive offers and experiences, reinforcing the partnership’s shared vision to promote safer driving, stronger communities, and a united Western Australia.
