Football Australia Extend Partnership With Compeat Nutrition

Football Australia (FA) have announced an extension and expansion of its partnership with innovative healthcare organisation, Compeat Nutrition, until August 2022.

As part of the partnership, players in each of the men’s and women’s national representative teams will have access to Compeat Nutrition’s digital platform, with support being provided to athletes via virtual meetings and one-one-one consultations.

The platform will help to forge good habits and ensures individualised solutions, with the aim of removing the geographical and time barriers which generally restrict Australian footballers.

FA high performance coordinator, Andrew Clark, said this deal was announced due to positive feedback in test runs of the program.

“We’ve witnessed some encouraging results and received some positive feedback from our women’s national team players since the platform was introduced to them two years ago,” Clark said.

“In partnership with Compeat Nutrition, we’ve now taken the opportunity to extend the support to a larger pool of players based at clubs in Australia, Asia, Europe and North America, ensuring that they can access nutritional support regardless of what time zone they are in.

“We’re always striving to find ways that we can support players while at their clubs, in preparation for their national team duties, and in international qualification and tournament mode.

“This service will assist many Australian footballers to develop healthy nutritional habits that they can use throughout their careers and in life after football,” he said.

Compeat Nutrition co-founder and leading performance dietitian, Alicia Edge, said FA’s progressiveness will help them in the long run.

“By engaging with Compeat, athletes will receive comprehensive education and sustained awareness of the impact of nutrition and wellbeing on performance that is vital for individual and team success at international level,” Edge said.
