Fiji Airways Announce Three-Year Partnership with Gold Coast SUNS

Fiji Airways has announced a strategic three-year agreement with the Gold Coast SUNS, naming the national carrier as an Official Partner of the AFL club.

The landmark deal serves as a major commercial launchpad for the airline’s new direct service between Nadi and the Gold Coast, which is scheduled to take flight on 11 June 2026.

The partnership officially launches today, 3 March, timed ahead of the SUNS’ season opener against Geelong this Friday at People First Stadium. By aligning with the AFL, Fiji Airways gains direct access to a key tourism demographic in one of Australia’s fastest-growing regions, with branding set to feature prominently before crowds of up to 20,000 fans at every home game.

Commenting on the announcement, Fiji Airways managing director and CEO, Paul Scurrah, said: “Australia remains Fiji’s largest tourism market, and the Gold Coast is a natural extension of our network.”

“This partnership not only supports the launch of our new direct service but also promotes Fiji as a premier holiday destination to thousands of Australian travellers each week,” Scurrah said.

Gold Coast SUNS CEO, Mark Evans noted that the airline is playing a leading role in deepening connections between the Gold Coast and the Pacific region.

“We are thrilled to welcome Fiji Airways to our club, just like the Gold Coast SUNS, Fiji Airways is committed to supporting the continued growth of the Gold Coast as a major destination,” Evans noted.

The partnership is expected to provide exclusive travel benefits and opportunities for the club’s growing member base.

Commercial Synergy and Matchday Activation

Throughout the 2026 season, fans will be engaged via Fijian-themed halftime activations, cultural performances, and holiday giveaways.

To celebrate the launch, the airline has also initiated a limited-time sale offering up to 45% off return fares to the Gold Coast.
