England Football and their governing body, The Football Association (The FA) has announced a partnership with retailer, M&S Foods, to promote healthy eating choices across the country.
The multi-year deal sees the pair shine a light on what players eat, to inspire families to consume healthier and balanced diets.
The partnership will cover the men’s, women’s, youth and disability teams across St George’s Park, with a focus on thousands of quality products with the ‘Eat Well’ seal.
It will also provide in-store exclusives, where fans can find players’ favourite recipes, and insights on athletes, managers and legends sharing their favourite Eat Well products.
Commenting on the partnership, England manager, Gareth Southgate, said: “Through our partnership with M&S Food and Eat Well we are aiming to help families across the country make healthier eating choices using the power of football.”
“We believe the fuel and recovery habits of all England players play an important role in their development and performance and partnering with M&S Food on joint initiatives will help inspire and influence this across the England pathway of teams from men’s, women’s, youth and disability teams.
“We cannot underestimate how important that is and this partnership supports that with the food range on offer.
“I know our players will enjoy the new ‘Boost Bar’ that has been installed at St. George’s Park, where they can enjoy fresh Eat Well smoothies to support their fuel and recovery goals,” he said.
M&S CEO, Stuart Machin, added: “Today, I’ll be writing to all our customers about this partnership and our aim to make a real difference to health and inspire the next generation.”
“By harnessing the influence of the players as role models, we want to encourage children and families to make healthier food choices through choosing Eat Well.
“We have nearly 2000 delicious Eat Well products across our Food Hall, from great quality fruit and vegetables to meals, snacks and drinks, all at trusted value.
“We’re constantly developing and improving our ranges, to give our customers delicious, healthier choices every day,” he said.
The announcement comes after the UK government issued a license permitting the sale of Chelsea Football club.
