K sportswear brand Castore has secured an AUD$47.2 million 10-year deal with England’s men’s and women’s cricket teams as it has become the official kit supplier for the teams.

Castore will replace the teams previous deal with New balance as the new England cricket kit will use natural fabrics to achieve the first completely recyclable sports collection.

After Castore was founded in 2016, they made their way into the spotlight with the West Indies national side at the end of 2019, followed in December 2020 by signing a three year deal with England’s wicket-keeper-batsman Jos Buttler.

Castore has already made striking moves in the UK sports market over the last few years, including kit contracts with Premier League’s Newcastle United, Wolverhampton Wanderers, England’s rugby union team Saracens, Formula One team McLaren, Tennis star Andy Murray and Olympic gold medallist Adam Peaty.

Newspaper The Times state the company is on track to make AUD$188.8 million of sales this year

Castore co-founder, Tom Beahon told The Times: “The market is clearly fond of fast-growing, direct-to-consumer companies, so we tick a lot of boxes for investors.”

“There’s also been a lot of special purpose vehicles in the states, a lot of dry powder and a lot of US guys who are interested in helping us grow.

“We just want to keep building the business and we will see what follows,” Beahon said.

Beahon also said the English kit would be sold at a lower price than expected as part of a commitment to the ECB’s strategy to inspire younger athletes into the sport.

“We want to introduce the sport to a wider social group and for our product to be available to them, so that will mean selling at a lower price point than we do normally,” he said.
