The Carlton Football Club is set to enhance its reputation as one of Australia’s top high-performance facilities with the introduction of a cutting-edge medical imaging centre at IKON Park.

In collaboration with Imaging Associates, a leading radiology provider, construction on the state-of-the-art imaging centre is slated to begin next week. The facility will be seamlessly integrated into the IKON Park complex, located to the left of the main building as visitors enter from Royal Parade.

Expected to set a new standard in Australian sports, the imaging centre will offer a comprehensive range of services, including MRI, CT, X-Ray, Mammography, and Ultrasound, all conveniently available on-site for Carlton players and the wider community.

Anticipated for completion by mid-2025, this project follows a recent $50 million redevelopment that elevated IKON Park to a premier high-performance training and playing hub in Australia.

This latest endeavour not only cements IKON Park as a top-tier facility for elite athletes and the home of AFLW, but also positions it as a competitive advantage both on and off the field.

By opening its doors to the public, the medical imaging centre will provide top-notch healthcare services to the broader community, with a specific focus on women’s health and cutting-edge research into injury prevention and treatment.

Carlton’s Chief Operating Officer, Thomas Crookes, expressed his excitement about the project, emphasising the Club’s commitment to supporting its players both on and off the field. The partnership with Imaging Associates underscores a shared dedication to delivering exceptional care and services.

This collaborative effort between the Club and Imaging Associates showcases a commitment to excellence in both local healthcare and sports performance. Together, they are looking forward to bringing this transformative project to fruition in the upcoming months.

Acknowledgments were also extended to the City of Melbourne and the Victorian State Government for their ongoing support, ensuring that IKON Park continues to stand out as a premier high-performance venue in Australian sports.
