Carlton Announces Gold Partner For 2025 and 2026

The Carlton Football Club has announced a significant partnership with Victoria’s Container Deposit Scheme (CDS Vic), which will serve as a gold partner through to at least the end of 2026.

This collaboration marks the scheme’s inaugural association with an AFL club and aligns with the Club’s commitment to community engagement and environmental sustainability.

The Container Deposit Scheme is designed to promote recycling and environmental responsibility by offering Victorians a 10-cent refund for each eligible drink container returned.

This initiative not only supports environmental efforts to reduce litter but also fosters community involvement, providing opportunities for charities, schools, and sports clubs to fundraise effectively.

Since its launch in November 2023, the scheme has returned over $1.5 million to these community groups, showcasing its impact.

As part of the two-year partnership, the CDS branding will be prominently featured on match days, utilising LED, big screen, and IPTV signage at Carlton’s home games.

Additionally, the partnership includes VicReturn being recognised as the AFL coach’s laptop partner, further integrating sustainability efforts into the fabric of the Club’s operations.

Commenting on the partnership, Carlton CEO, Brian Cook, said: “We are pleased to welcome Victoria’s Container Deposit Scheme as a gold partner with the Blues. Victoria’s Container Deposit Scheme is a wonderful initiative for the community, and we’re proud to partner with an organisation that is providing such valuable impact in Victoria and the environment.”

“This announcement aligns two community-focused organisations, and we’re incredibly grateful for their support of the Club. We look forward to working with VicReturn to drive positive outcomes within the community,” he said.

VicReturn CEO and coordinator of the Container Deposit Scheme, Jim Round, added: “We’re excited to team up with Carlton to raise participation in Victoria’s Container Deposit Scheme in a fun and engaging way.”

“We wish the Blues all the best for season 2025, and we’re looking forward to helping Carlton members and all AFL fans make a lot of change through the scheme,” he said.

This partnership not only emphasises Carlton’s dedication to community and environmental initiatives but also presents a unique opportunity for increased engagement with fans and community members, aligning sport with sustainable practices.
