BWT Alpine Formula One Team Partners with AtkinsRéalis for Engineering Innovation

The BWT Alpine Formula One Team has announced a new partnership with global engineering services firm AtkinsRéalis, aiming to enhance its technical capabilities and talent pipeline through cross-sector collaboration.

The partnership began at the recent Canadian Grand Prix and will see the two organisations work together on joint initiatives focused on innovation, performance optimisation, and skills development. AtkinsRéalis brings expertise from sectors such as nuclear, aerospace, and defence—areas that require precision, resilience, and high-level engineering solutions.

AtkinsRéalis President and CEO Ian L. Edwards said the partnership offers an opportunity to blend high-performance sport with cutting-edge engineering. “By combining our global expertise with BWT Alpine’s pioneering spirit, we’re creating a relationship where seasoned engineers and rising talent can grow together, challenge conventions, and deliver real-world impact,” Edwards said.

A key component of the agreement is the creation of an engineering academy to support talent development across both organisations. The initiative is designed to foster knowledge transfer and develop engineering competencies applicable to both motorsport and broader industry contexts.

David Sanchez, Executive Technical Director of BWT Alpine Formula One Team, highlighted the strategic fit. “Cutting-edge engineering is central to success in Formula One. AtkinsRéalis brings a wealth of experience across advanced technology sectors that aligns well with our fast-paced environment,” he said.

The collaboration is expected to deliver value in areas such as vehicle performance, operational efficiency, and sustainability, while also helping to attract and train the next generation of engineers.

This partnership reflects a growing trend of F1 teams collaborating with external technology firms to enhance innovation capacity and strengthen long-term competitive positioning.
