Businesses eager to secure contracts for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games will soon have the chance to get ahead of the curve.

The Brisbane 2032 Organising Committee announced it will launch its procurement program on October 8 at The Star, Queen’s Wharf. Tickets to the event are priced at AUD250 per head, with attendees gaining early insight into more than 50 expressions of interest (EOI) packages.

Brisbane 2032 President, Andrew Liveris, will headline the event alongside CEO Cindy Hook, Paris 2024 Organising Committee Chief Finance and HR Officer, Fabrice Lacroix, and Queensland Olympic and Paralympic Games Minister, Tim Mander. Together, they will reveal the first tranche of procurement opportunities, timelines, and guidance for businesses preparing to pitch for work.

“The Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games will focus the eyes of the world on our region and generate billions of dollars in just under seven years’ time.”

“We want as many local businesses as possible to be part of delivering our home Games,” Liveris said.

Emphasising that early preparation would be crucial, Liveris, added: “We’re deliberately launching our procurement process early. We want to give as many businesses as much time to plan, prepare, and pitch for work.”

“The Games will be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for many businesses,” he said.

The procurement launch is designed to provide businesses with clarity and time to prepare. With opportunities spanning industries such as sports equipment, temporary infrastructure, hospitality, catering, and event services, organisers expect thousands of contracts to be on offer in the lead-up to the Games.

The Brisbane 2032 Organising Committee has positioned the Games as both a global sporting spectacle and a local economic catalyst, aiming to ensure widespread participation across Queensland’s business community.

With the event less than seven years away, organisers are signalling that planning and procurement will move at pace, with the October launch marking the first of many opportunities for local suppliers to engage.
