This announcement was made in Paris, where Bonnaillie joined CEO Cindy Hook and President Andrew Liveris to mark the occasion.
Bonnaillie brings extensive experience to the role, having served as the Senior Director of Partnership and Licensing for the Paris 2024 Organising Committee over the past five years. His impressive career spans three decades, including nearly 25 years with the multinational corporation Procter & Gamble, a Worldwide Olympic Partner.
The recruitment of Bonnaillie follows a comprehensive global search, highlighting Brisbane 2032’s commitment to building a world-class team. CEO Cindy Hook expressed her enthusiasm for Bonnaillie’s appointment, stating, “Francois-Xavier brings an impressive and broad international commercial background to the role, along with a unique understanding of the task ahead to raise significant sponsorship revenue for Brisbane 2032. I’m confident the success he and his team have delivered to the Paris 2024 Organising Committee will translate to our efforts here.”
President Andrew Liveris emphasised the strategic timing of this appointment. “We are committed to being self-funded and cost-neutral to the taxpayer,” Liveris noted. “Having Francois-Xavier on board now ensures we are well-prepared in our plans and discussions with potential partners ahead of our official marketing period commencing in 2027.”
Bonnaillie expressed his honour in joining the Brisbane 2032 team, stating, “I have a fond connection with Brisbane, having traveled to the city for business many times. To have a leadership position in supporting the acceleration and commercial capacity for Brisbane 2032 is a rare and privileged opportunity, and I’m looking forward to getting started.”
Bonnaillie and his family will relocate to Australia following the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, with his role officially beginning in November this year.
