Australian Surf Championships Receive Boost From Three New Commercial Partners

The SAE Group Australian Surf Championships will return to the Tweed Coast again in 2019, boosted by three new partners in Tweed Shire Council, Gold Coast Airport and Solo Resource Recovery.

The eighteen-day surfing event is proudly supported by the NSW Government via its tourism and major events agency Destination NSW and Mayor of Tweed, Councillor Katie Milne, is thrilled to be involved.
“Tweed Shire Council is very pleased to be supporting the 2019 Australian Surf Championships, an event which adds to the vibrancy of the region and promotes positive interaction with our internationally significant natural environment,” Councillor Milne said.

More than 500 competitors from across the country are set to compete in four disciplines along Tweed Coast’s various beach, reef and point break setups.

Gold Coast Airport Chief Operating Officer, Marion Charlton, said the airport team was excited about being involved in a world-class event, staged on the spectacular Tweed Coast.

“As the gateway to northern New South Wales and the Gold Coast, we are right behind high-profile events like this, which showcase our beautiful region and bring visitors to the area,” she said.

“We look forward to welcoming competitors and spectators through the gates of Gold Coast Airport for the event this August.”
The event is also proudly supported by Tweed Shire Council, SAE Group, North Star Holiday Resort, the Australian Institute of Sport, Gold Coast Airport, Hydralyte Sports, Hyundai, 2XP, Solo Resource Recovery, Kingscliff and District Chamber of Commerce, mySURF.tv, Surfing Australia and Surfing NSW.
