The Australian Off-Road Championship (AORC) has announced Yamaha Motor Australia as their naming rights partner for the 17th consecutive year.
The partnership will see the AORC feature 14 classes of competition, including six junior classes, the 2 Stroke Cup and all premiere senior classes.
Commenting on the extension, Motorcycling Australia CEO, Peter Doyle, said: “Motorcycling Australia is ecstatic to again have the support of Yamaha Motor Australia as the Naming Rights partner for the 2022 Australian Off-Road Championship, presented by MX Store.”
“With the support of Yamaha Motor Australia, we will continue to produce sensational racing at each round and help nurture the next generation of world-class riders and potential future ISDE and Dakar stars,” he said.
Yamaha Motor Australia national sales and marketing manager of MC, ATV and ROVs, Matthew Ferry, added: “2022 marks the 17th year in succession as Yamaha Motor Australia being the major sponsors of the Australian Off-Road Championship and it is a tradition that we are proud to maintain.”
“Over the years we have seen the series grow and become a focal point for world off road where many Australian riders have used the AORC as a platform to launch international careers and we would love to see that continue.
“Investing in the AORC gives Australian riders the opportunity to hone their skills and gain valuable experience that has proven to hold them in good stead at an international level,” he said.
Additionally, world and Australian champion, Jess Gardiner, extended her partnership with Yamaha for another year, while Joshua Green and Michael Driscoll are again representing the ‘Shop Yamaha Offroad Team’ for the 2022 season.
