Under Armour and The DICK’S Sporting Goods Foundation have announced a combined USD1 million commitment to the Click Clack: Next Era Grant.
Delivered by Beyond Sport, the initiative is designed to dismantle access barriers in girls flag football, a sport that has officially transitioned from a niche alternative to a strategic priority for major athletic brands.
As of early 2026, the NCAA has officially added flag football to its Emerging Sports for Women program, and 17 U.S. states have now sanctioned it as a varsity high school sport.
By providing financial resources, high-performance apparel, and specialized coach education through the Positive Coaching Alliance, the grant targets both community-level participation and the administrative infrastructure needed to secure official sanctioning in additional states.
Commenting on the Investment fund, Under Armour director of global community impact, Flynn Burch, said: “Expanding access to sport is core to who Under Armour is as a brand.”
“Click Clack: Next Era Grant reflects our belief in the power of women’s and girls’ sports and our commitment to creating safe, welcoming environments where young athletes feel they belong,” Burch said.
With flag football set to make its Olympic debut at the 2028 Los Angeles Games, the “Click Clack” campaign reclaims Under Armour’s heritage to elevate the women defining the sport’s future.
To celebrate the launch, the partners hosted a clinic at the Moscone Center during Super Bowl LX week, providing head-to-toe apparel and elite training to 80 girls from the Oakland Unified School District.
Expressing his enthusiasm, VP of The DICK’S Sporting Goods Foundation, Rick Jordan, said: “Flag football offers kids a chance to discover sport or stay engaged as they grow.”
“Our support helps make sure more young athletes have the opportunity to play, connect with teammates, and build confidence, ” he said.
