David Beckham and Bank of America Finalise Landmark Five-Year Youth Sports Pact

Bank of America has announced a five-year global sports ambassador agreement with football icon and entrepreneur Sir David Beckham.

The partnership, unveiled this week at the World Economic Forum in Davos, coincides with the bank’s debut as an Official Sponsor of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The collaboration will focus on expanding youth access to sports through the bank’s “Sports with Us” initiative, prioritising coaching and facility development for underserved communities.

The organisation aims to tackle the “infrastructure gap” in youth sports. Programs will span multiple disciplines, including soccer, running, and golf—with the goal of influencing hundreds of thousands of children over the next decade.

For Beckham, the deal follows the 2024 success of his franchise, Inter Miami CF, which secured the MLS Cup and is currently preparing for a transformative 2026.

“What Bank of America can do is really support a young generation that is coming through.”

“They’re giving these children an opportunity, a safe space, the facilities, and the great coaches. It’s about enabling kids who otherwise wouldn’t have the chance,” said David Beckham.

Bank of America CEO, Brian Moynihan, emphasised that Beckham’s business acumen was as vital as his sporting legacy.

“David understands business as an entrepreneur and a capitalist.”

“It’s great to work with him to drive progress and support the communities we serve,” Moynihan said.

Strategic Infrastructure and the Miami Soccer Hub

The partnership arrives as Miami solidifies its status as the epicentre of North American soccer. Beckham’s Inter Miami will open the USD1 billion (AUD1.4 billion) Miami Freedom Park stadium on 4 April 2026 with a home opener against Austin FC.

The 131-acre development features 23 acres of public soccer fields, aligning directly with the community-access goals of the Bank of America agreement.

2026 FIFA World Cup: Miami is set to host seven matches at Hard Rock Stadium, including a quarter-final and the bronze final.

Youth Golf Expansion: The bank’s “Golf with Us” program has already enrolled over 86,000 kids, providing $5 rounds at thousands of courses across the U.S.

Economic Impact: Bank of America’s endurance partnerships, including the Boston and Chicago marathons, generated a combined economic impact of over $1.1 billion in 2025.

The organisation expects to rollout specific geographic program details in the first quarter of 2026, leveraging Beckham’s global platform to promote well-being and opportunity ahead of the most anticipated World Cup in history.
