AFL Confirms Greater Ticketing Allocation For Club Members at 2024 Toyota AFL Grand Final

AFL CEO Andrew Dillon has confirmed that club members attending the 2024 Toyota AFL Grand Final will have greater access to tickets, with an additional 1,000 tickets allocated to competing club members, bringing their total allocation to 35,000 (17,500 tickets per club).

These extra tickets for 2024 will be drawn from the AFL’s corporate and premium hospitality reserves, underlining a commitment to prioritise and reward the most dedicated fans of the competing teams.

The emphasis on club members is evident, with competing club members receiving the lion’s share of tickets at 35,000, followed by MCC members, AFL and Medallion Club Members, and finally other stakeholders and premium hospitality guests who receive a smaller allocation. Together, these members represent nearly 75,000 tickets, amounting to 75% of the venue’s capacity.

The announcement was made at the quarterly CEO Conference in Perth, where AFL’s Andrew Dillon and AFL EGM Customer and Commercial Kylie Rogers engaged with all 18 Club CEOs to discuss the ticket allocation changes. The focus of this initiative is to collaborate collectively and secure more tickets for competing club members in future seasons.

Andrew Dillon praised the remarkable support and dedication of fans, highlighting a record-breaking season with over 5.5 million attendees, 1.2 million members, and massive broadcast viewership. He emphasised the vital role of ardent club supporters in creating the electric atmosphere on match days.

Recognising the significance of the Toyota AFL Grand Final as a premier global sporting event, Dillon stressed the ongoing challenge of meeting the overwhelming demand for tickets, given the MCG’s 100,000-seat capacity. The upcoming ticket release in September will prioritise competing club members, ensuring they have increased access to tickets for this year’s event and beyond.

The AFL has confirmed in the coming weeks that the 2024 Toyota AFL Finals Series ticketing and Round 24 Fixture release will be confirmed, with members getting exclusive access to finals tickets ahead of the general public.
