Australian pay-TV powerhouse Foxtel has solidified its stronghold in cricket broadcasting by securing multi-year rights extensions with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and Cricket South Africa (CSA).

The renewed agreements encompass a wide range of competitions, including Australian men’s and women’s Test matches, one-day internationals and Twenty20 tours held in South Africa, England and India.

Under these deals, all cricket content covered will be exclusively available to Australian audiences through Foxtel and its streaming service, Kayo Sports.

Foxtel already holds broadcasting agreements with New Zealand Cricket (NZC) and the immensely popular Indian Premier League (IPL). The current contracts contribute to an extensive Fox Cricket schedule, featuring an impressive 1,131 Tests, 2,525 ODIs and 389 T20Is – totalling a remarkable 4,045 international matches across all formats.

Foxtel’s influence in cricket broadcasting extends beyond national boundaries, with the broadcaster previously holding rights to International Cricket Council (ICC) tournaments in Australia. However, Amazon succeeded Foxtel in a groundbreaking streaming-only deal that spans until the conclusion of 2027. This deal, encompassing both men’s and women’s Cricket World Cups, stands as the most significant streaming-only agreement in the history of Australian sports broadcasting.

“We have been proud partners of Cricket South Africa, the English and Wales Cricket Board and the BCCI for more than a decade,” said Rebecca McCloy, Foxtel Group’s Executive Director, Commercial – Sport.

“These renewed deals mean that the Foxtel Group will continue to deliver customers unrivalled coverage of the biggest and best line-up of international and local cricket.”

“Alongside our comprehensive rights to domestic cricket, which we have until 2031, this announcement is great news for our millions of subscribers who can continue enjoy the most extensive coverage of cricket in Australia and around the world.”

As cricket enthusiasts gear up for the upcoming Australian summer – including visits from the Pakistan and West Indies men’s teams, before Australia heads off on a tour of New Zealand – Foxtel remains at the forefront of delivering top-notch cricket content.

The broadcaster’s commitment to the sport is showcased their comprehensive Big Bash League coverage throughout December and January. With these recent multi-year rights extensions, Foxtel solidifies its position as a premier destination for both domestic and international cricket coverage for the foreseeable future.
