Tiktok partners with Copa90 To Bring Fan-First Football Content

TikTok has partnered with football media company, COPA90, as their lead content partner.

The partnership will bring fan-based football content to the platform, as they look to expand the Women’s football fandom.

Women’s sports exposure and interaction on TikTok have increased radically in recent years. With the hashtag #womeninsports nearly reaching one billion visits.

Guy-Laurent Epstein, UEFA marketing director, said: “We are thrilled to once again partner with TikTok, this time for the biggest UEFA Women’s EURO ever. With the TikTok football community ever-growing with teams, fans, creators and associations, we are looking forward to showcasing this summer’s premiere sporting event featuring some of the greatest women’s footballers in the world through unique, creative and engaging content.

“It’s an exciting time to be a football fan,” he said.

The new trend, ‘Get to Know’ has launched on the platform, to gather fans from 24 participating nations and share their predictions. ‘Starting XI’ will also inspire fans to create different starting teams to compete.

The platform will include the launch of, ‘The Flare Button’, an exciting half-time broadcast show featuring ex-footballers, musicians, comedians and more.

Commenting on the partnership, James Stafford, head of partnerships and community of TikTok, James Stafford, said: “Football on TikTok has had meteoric rise in the build-up to an exciting Summer of football, it has become a place where our community can follow their favourite football players, teams and creators as well as share their own unique football experiences.

“We are delighted to be working with COPA90, whose expertise and understanding of the modern football fan has resulted in new and dynamic content formats, bringing our community even more unique opportunities to engage throughout this iconic tournament.

The platform is already the home of 100M football fans across Europe, who engage and share their football experiences. COPA90 will look to grow the existing football fandom.

UEFA Women’s EURO 2022 began yesterday and will be hosted by England until the 31 July.
