Australia’s second division basketball league, NBL1, will showcase its Championship Games live on Kayo Sports this weekend.

The inaugural NBL1 season, which commenced in March this year, was a collaboration between Basketball Victoria and the National Basketball League and took over the now-defunct South East Australia Basketball League (SEABL).

The NBL1 women’s Championship Game between Geelong Supercats and Kilsyth Cobras will be live-streamed on Kayo Sports this Saturday, August 17 at 5:00 pm AEST, followed by the NBL1 men’s Championship Game between Nunawading Spectres and Bendigo Braves at 8:00pm AEST.

NBL Chief Executive, Jeremy Loeliger, said: “We have been delighted with the progress NBL1 has made in its inaugural season and we are excited that Kayo Sports will live-stream the Championship Games.

“Being on the Kayo Sports platform brings NBL1 to a new audience that can watch one of Australia’s premier winter basketball leagues.”

The move is a significant win for the basketball team’s major sponsors, with the streaming partnership providing expanded exposure to Kayo Sports 382,000 subscribers.

Cam Luke, Liam Santamaria and Mark Worthington will commentate the NBL1 Championship Games.

In addition to the NBL1 Championship Games, basketball fans can stream every game of the upcoming FIBA Basketball World Cup on Kayo.

Starting with the opening clash on August 31, all 92 games will be available LIVE and on demand via Kayo, with subscribers able to stream the action straight to their TV or favourite device.

Kayo Sports is Australia’s dedicated multi-sports streaming service with over 50 sports live and on-demand.
