Cricket Australia, Toyota Australia Agree To Multi-Year Extension

Cricket Australia has announced a four-year extension with Toyota Australia.

The deal extends from grassroots to the elite level, with the partnership supporting both Big Bash League competitions, the Australian women’s team, and Cricket Australia’s diversity and inclusion programs.

The car company has also renewed their support of local and regional cricket, through the Toyota Good for Cricket program and the Toyota Australian Country Cricket Championships.

Commenting on the deal, Toyota Australia chief market officer, Vin Naidoo, said: “Toyota has been a long-standing supporter of grassroots cricket across Australia, and we’re delighted to extend our partnership to all divisions of cricket for the 2022-23 season and beyond.”

“Since 2012, Toyota has supported community cricket with the Good for Cricket program, helping hundreds of clubs across Australia raise over AUD$5 million that they can put towards new kits, cricket ground upgrades or buying new gear.

“This season, the Toyota Good for Cricket Raffle has enabled grassroots clubs to raise AUD$849,970 by selling over 169,000 tickets, helping them make cricket more accessible for all.

“Toyota is extremely proud to extend this partnership and support players, volunteers, and fans across the entire cricket community,” he said.

Cricket Australia CEO, Nick Hockley, added: “We are delighted to be continuing our long-running partnership with Toyota Australia and are particularly grateful for the fundraising support they have provided local clubs and volunteers over many years through the Good for Cricket raffle.”

“Toyota Australia’s commitment to be a part of the journey of all cricketers, from the community level through to elite teams and competitions, aligns perfectly with our commitment of ensuring cricket is a sport for all,” he said.

The multi-year extension comes after Cricket Australia announced Lachlan Henderson as the new chair, replacing the interim Richard Freudenstein last month.
